The Board of Directors of Arqaam Group consists of a mix of Executive Directors and Non-Executive Directors.

The Board of Directors of Arqaam Group consists of a mix of Executive Directors and Non-Executive Directors (including Independent Non-Executive Directors), with a majority of Non-Executive Directors or the Non-Executive Directors having the casting vote.

The Board of Directors is the supreme governing body of Arqaam Group. It has overall responsibility for Arqaam Group; provides strategic direction, leadership and oversight; and all important matters are reserved for decision by the Board. The Board has ultimate responsibility for business strategy and financial soundless, key personnel decisions, internal organisation and governance structures and practices, and risk management and compliance obligations. The Board may delegate some of its functions, though not its responsibilities, to board committees or others where appropriate.

Riad Meliti
Executive Director & CEO of Arqaam Group 
Riad Meliti is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Arqaam Group. Mr Meliti is an investment banker with over 25 years of experience, having served in regulatory positions in London and Dubai. He began his career at Credit Suisse First Boston and then moved to UBS Warburg, before finally joining Barclays Capital. He was a Director and Head of the Middle East desk at Barclays Capital, with added responsibility for Central Bank relationships. Under his management, the Middle East business at Barclays Capital grew eight-fold in terms of revenue base; with the Central Bank business showing an increase in revenue of 80% over the 18 months for which he was responsible. In 2004, Riad left Barclays Capital to found the CiC Group, which subsequently re-branded to Arqaam Capital. Starting off with equity capital of just under US$1 million, Arqaam initially concentrated on private equity and principal finance transactions.  In 2006, Riad led a private placement fundraising which led to the establishment of Arqaam Capital in the DIFC in 2007 and the assembly of a professional and highly experienced management team to roll out the business plan. Since then, the Arqaam Group has grown rapidly to become a well regarded leading top 2 institutionally focused financial services firm specializing in Emerging and Frontier Markets, with a particular focus on Middle East and Africa.
Sami Sindi
Non-Executive Director & Chairman of Arqaam Group
Sami Sindi is Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Board of Arqaam Group. He is a private investor and businessman. He is a Partner and Managing Director of Crescent Point, which is an emerging markets investment firm with a primary focus on the Asia-Pacific region. He has served on the Board of Saudia Airlines and was its Director General. He also works closely with the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF). He started his career with over 15 years of corporate finance and corporate law experience at Morgan Stanley and White & Case respectively. He is a founder of Harvard Law School’s Centre for Islamic Legal Studies and a regular participant in Council on Foreign Relations and a guest lecturer at Columbia University. Mr Sindi is a member of the New York Bar with a B.A. (Hons) degree in Jurisprudence from Oxford University and an LLM from Harvard Law School.
Luay Al Qatami
Non-Executive Director at Arqaam
Luay Al Qatami is Non-Executive Director and a member of the Board of Arqaam Group. He specialises in international property investments. He also has significant investment banking experience from prior positions with Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (as Investment Manager – Treasury and Investment Division); Al Ahlia Investment Company (as Senior Investment Manager – Portfolio and Asset Management); Gulf Investment Corporation (as Assistant Manager – Asset Management Division); and investment training with the Kuwait Investment Authority (which included short-term positions with various institutions, including Morgan Stanley). Mr. Al Qatami has a BA in Business Administration (with a focus on Marketing) from The American College in London and a MBA in Finance from Kuwait University.
Mubarak Bin Fahad Al Mheiri
Non-Executive Director and member of the Board of the Arqaam Group
Mubarak Bin Fahad Al Mheiri is a Non-Executive Director and member of the Board of the Arqaam Group.  He is a UAE national who is a respected venture capitalist.  He serves on the Board of various entities including Commercial Bank International.  Previous positions include roles in the Private Office of HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Khalifa Al Nahayan, Dubai World Trade Center, Al Khaleej Investments and Dubai Department of Tourism. He is also an active leader and investor in the fields of event management, food and hospitality, including various leading brands. Mr. Al Mheiri has a Bachelor of Science in Finance, Insurance and Management from Northeastern University, Boston USA and an MBA in Strategic Management from University of Birmingham, UK.

Mazen Altamimi

Non-Executive Director
Mazen Hani Altamimi is a Non-Executive Director and a member of the Board of Arqaam Group. He has a long and esteemed career in financial services, banking and wealth management; serves on the Board of other business and is also an investor himself.  He spent most of his working career at Banque Saudi Fransi, starting as a trainee and rising through the ranks to become a corporate banking division manager, then regional general manager, then senior executive director and head of institutional banking, and finally an advisor to the Executive Committee of Saudi Fransi Capital.  He was also Group Chairman of Almurjan Group.  He has in-depth experience of wealth management, asset management, corporate banking, corporate credit, investment banking and structured finance.  Mr. Altamimi has a BA in Computer Science from Richmond University in London.
Mohamed Aboul Nasr Bassatne
Non-Executive Director
Mohamed Bassatne is a Non-Executive Director and member of the Board of the Arqaam Group.  Mr Bassatne brings more than 25 years of experience in trading, business development and investment banking across five continents.  Mr Bassatne serves as the Group CEO of BB Energy, a renowned global oil trading firm and is responsible for BB Energy’s global development and expansion strategy, having contributed to consolidating its position as one of the largest oil traders. Mr Bassatne has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Wharton School of Business (where he now serves as a board member).  He is also an alumnus of the prestigious Owner President Executive Program at Harvard Business School.
Abdulaziz Bin Hassan
Independent Non-Executive Director

Abdulaziz Abdulmohsen Bin Hassan is a Non-Executive Director and a member of the Board of Arqaam Group. He has a long and esteemed career in financial services, banking and Investment Bank; serves on the Board of other business and is also an investor himself. He spent of his working career at Riyad Bank, SAMBA Finical Group, Bank Muscat, Arabian Capital, Rana Investments and Credit Suisse. starting as a trainee in the capital markets, the ranks to become a head of fixed income portfolio as SAMBA, then head of Alternative Investments , then deputy CEO and head of the Treasury & Investment Group at Bank Muscat Riyadh, then Managing Director & CEO at Arabian Capital, then Managing Director & CEO at RANA Investment Co. then Managing Director & CEO of Credit Suisse, Saudi Arabia, heading the investment Bank, also member of the MENAT operating Committee of Credit Suisse. Also was a board member at the Saudi Stock Exchange ”Tadawul”, member of the advisory committee at the Capital Market Authority CMA in Saudi Arabia. He was also the Chairman of Alalmyiah insurance company, Board member at Al-Faisaliah Group, Board Member of Saudi Fransi Capital, member of the Audit Committee at Arab National Bank ( ANB ) He was also Group Chairman of Jet Lane Aviation Co.. He has in-depth experience of Investment Bank, Alternative Investments , asset management, Fixed Income Capital Markets, Aviation Management, Real Estate Development. Mr. Bin Hassan has a BA in Law from King Saud University in Riyadh and a degree from Saïd Business School at Oxford University, United Kingdom.
