Chairman
Sami Sindi / Chairman
Sami Sami Sindi is our Chairman and a Non-Executive Director.  He is a Partner and Managing Director of Crescent Point, which is an emerging markets investment firm with a primary focus on the Asia-Pacific region.  He has fifteen years of corporate finance and corporate law experience at Morgan Stanley and White & Case respectively.  He is a founder of Harvard Law School's Centre for Islamic Legal Studies and a regular participant in Council on Foreign Relations and a guest lecturer at Columbia University.  Mr Sindi is a member of the New York Bar with a B.A. (Hons) degree in Jurisprudence from Oxford University and an LLM from Harvard Law School.
Executive Directors
Riad Meliti / Chief Executive Officer
Riad Riad Meliti is our Chief Executive Officer. He is an investment banker with over 14 years of experience. He began his career at Credit Suisse First Boston and then moved to UBS Warburg, before finally joining Barclays Capital. He was a Director and Head of the Middle East desk at Barclays Capital, with added responsibility for Central Bank relationships. Under his management, the Middle East business at Barclays Capital grew in terms of revenue base by eight-fold; with the Central Bank business showing an increase in revenue of 80% over the 18 months he was responsible. In 2004, Mr. Meliti left Barclays Capital to found the CiC Group, which subsequently re-branded to Arqaam Capital. Mr. Meliti has a Bachelor's in Economics from University College, London.
Dennis Wijsmuller / Chief Operating Officer
Dennis Dennis Wijsmuller is our Chief Operating Officer. He has over 16 years of experience and a successful track record in private and public sector project development and financing in emerging markets in the fields of power generation and transmission, water and wastewater treatment, healthcare, infrastructure and light industry. He specialises in private equity and project financing transactions involving Export Credit Agencies, Multilateral Agencies and Bilateral Agencies. Mr. Wijsmuller graduated summa cum laude - Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), from the American Graduate School of Business in Switzerland.
Non-Executive Directors
John Eldredge
John John Eldredge is the Head of the Emirates Bank Group's Treasury Trading, Funding, Proprietary Investments and Treasury Products Structuring and Sales functions. He has previously held Executive Management posts with Arab National Bank in Saudi Arabia, and the Barclays Group in London and Australia specialising in Treasury, Investment and Risk Management. Mr. Eldredge has extensive Treasury Finance and Investment experience in running substantial portfolios. He is a CPA (Australia) and holds a BA (Accounting) and Fellow of Australian Investment Institute.
Hamad Al-Hamad
Hamad Hamad Al-Hamad is the CEO of Al Dhow Investment Company. Mr Al-Hamad has substantive experience in investment banking, having served at Al Dhow Investment Company for the past 6 years and prior to that at International Investment Group as Vice-President of Corporate Finance, and Kuwait Investment Projects Co as Assistant Manager of Corporate Finance. Mr Al-Hamad has a BSc. in Political Science from Guilford College (Greensboro, North Carolina, USA) and has undertaken various other professional courses.
Salaheddin Mussa
Salaheddin Salaheddin Mussa is the Chairman of Mercantile, a successful private equity and real estate investment vehicle. He is also Chairman of Chesterton, an international real estate agency and advisory firm. He has over 25 years of experience in Real Estate investments in Europe, North Africa and the United States. His family is also the agent for several international brands in Libya as well as the first private Libyan hospital. Throughout his career he has set up, managed and exited several large private real estate funds. Mr. Mussa has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the United States International University in San Diego, California.
Independent Non-Executive Directors
Khamis Buharoon
Khamis Khamis Buharoon is the Managing Director of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and, prior to that, was the Chief Executive Officer of Commercial Bank International (CBI). Mr. Buharoon has over 18 years of banking experience. In addition to the aforesaid posts, he held various positions in the UAE Central Bank (Assistant Manager Internal Audit Department, Head of Examiners and Assistant Manager to Finance Division) and also held positions with First Gulf Bank (General Auditor); National Bank of Abu Dhabi (Head of Domestic Banking) and AG Holding (Partner and CEO). Mr. Buharoon has a Bachelor in Accounting & Business Administration.
Luay Al Qatami
Luay Luay Al Qatami is the Chairman and Managing Director of Ajwan Gulf Real Estate Co based in Kuwait, which specialises in international property investments. He also has significant investment banking experience from prior positions with Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait (as Investment Manager - Treasury and Investment Division); Al Ahlia Investment Company (as Senior Investment Manager - Portfolio and Asset Management); Gulf Investment Corporation (as Assistant Manager - Asset Management Division); and investment training with the Kuwait Investment Authority (which included short-term positions with various institutions, including Morgan Stanley). Mr. Al Qatami has a BA in Business Administration (with a focus on Marketing) from The American College in London and a MBA in Finance from Kuwait University.
